About Gaulan

Nestled in the northeastern part of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay, Barangay Gaulan boasts a rich history rooted in the Subanen culture. Spread over 2,551.51 hectares, its diverse landscape ranges from fertile clay-rich plains to elevated mountainous regions, making it ideal for agriculture. The barangay is intersected by the Sibugay and Muyo Rivers and enjoys a hot climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Home to 1,519 residents as of 2024, Barangay Gaulan's vibrant community is primarily engaged in farming, with a rich tapestry of cultural beliefs and traditions.

We are a group of nine remarkable medical students from Ateneo de Zamboanga University – School of Medicine, deployed in the serene community of Barangay Gaulan, Municipality of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay. With unwavering enthusiasm and tenacity, our team is set forth to impart radiance to the lives of its residents through health promotion, shared humanity, resilience, camaraderie, and harmony.
