JULY 2025
LAKBAY KONSULTA
Last June 25, our team had the opportunity to take part in Lakbay Konsulta, a program initiated by the Rural Health Unit of Diplahan to provide free medical consultations to community members. The activity was held in Barangay Balangao, in collaboration with our seniors assigned in Barangays Lindang and Tinongtongan.
As future doctors, each of us was entrusted with a vital role. Our team focused on risk assessment and initial history taking, allowing us to take one step closer to becoming the physicians we aspire to be.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Michael Van Site for inviting Sidlak Gaulan to be part of this meaningful mission.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY
We had the privilege of joining the Barangay Gaulan General Assembly—where plans were laid out, voices were heard, and the vision for a healthier community was shared.
After the assembly, we rolled up our sleeves for another Focused Group Discussion (FGD)—this time with the Barangay Officials—to talk about the prevalence of open defecation and toilet sanitation in the area.
Tough conversations, but necessary ones. Because every great plan starts with honest dialogue and a heart for change.
PROBLEM PRIORITIZATION
LOOK! 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐀𝐊 𝐆𝐀𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐍, together with the Barangay Officials and Community Members of Gaulan, worked as one in identifying the health issues that matter most to them.
Through multiple voting sessions with the community, we listened to their concerns, gathered their insights, and gave them the power to help shape their own healthcare priorities. Their voices guided every step of this process.
With their input, and through careful discussion with the barangay leaders, we conducted our final prioritization— 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝟔 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬 into a clearer, more focused direction for action.
